Specialist Monique Sapp hails from the great state of Texas as many others in the Army. She currently lives, breathes, eats, and works at AFN Heidelberg. Previously stationed in what many would call the armpit of Korea, (Camp Red Cloud) she feels Germany is a breath of fresh air. (Literally) Anyone who has been stationed in Korea knows what she’s talking about. Specialist Sapp loves to scare herself, so she tries to watch scary movies all the time even the ones that aren’t so good. She is an adrenaline junkie! While in Germany she plans to go skydiving, bungee jumping, and white water rafting. Before Specialist Sapp joined the Army she worked as a marketing executive for Budweiser. She liked the job, but after a while free Budweiser lead to an unattractive bulge in the belly area. The Army came into play when her student loans reared their ugly head. She thought she took the easy way out by joining the Army; however, joining the Army wasn’t anything she imagined. On the bright side, the Army is paying off her student loans and hopefully by the time she leaves Germany, she will have a master’s degree. Specialist Sapp has been in the Army for almost two years now and has lived in two countries beside the U.S. Hopefully while she’s here, she will have to the opportunity to visit more.
