SFC Adam Shaw
Station Commander
SFC Adam Shaw hails from Garden Grove, CA. He joined the Army in 2000 and in 2001 attended the Defense Information School to become a broadcast journalist.
SFC Shaw first worked as a broadcaster in the Second Infantry Division Public Affairs Office. While there he moonlighted with AFN Uijongbu as a morning radio host.
He then went on to AFN Wuerzburg. There he served as TV team leader and an afternoon radio show host. While there the station placed second in the Keith L. Ware competition for best newscast.
Beginning in 2004, he served as radio sports producer for the Defense Media Center (formerly the AFRTS Broadcast Center) in Riverside, CA – going to the Stanley Cup Finals, World Baseball Classic, the National Championship Game, Mayweather vs. De La Hoya (the first one), Trinidad vs. Wright, NFL, NBA and MLB playoffs.
He then spent two years with the 16th Sustainment Brigade out of Bamberg, Germany, where he deployed in support of OIF 08-10 for 15 months.
His military schools include Battle Staff NCO, Combatives Level 3, Equal Opportunity Representatives course, Joint Expeditionary Public Affairs Course, Advanced Electronic Journalism Course, SLC, ALC, and WLC.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Thomas Edison State College and is currently working on his master's from the University of Oklahoma.
He arrived at the station in December 2009.
